This is a three-week-Footvolley Report. Spring has given us some great days with lots of sunshine and moderate wind conditions again offering us good conditions to play footvolley. Lots have been happening during these past three weeks. Footvolley at Manly has been great! Our number of players is increasing and new faces are joining FVA.
Footvolley Bondi and Footvolley Manly are now in the loop for footvolley sessions together. The players will start travelling for social matches which will develop the skills even further by playing against more advanced players. Mauricio joined Rod and the others on a very welcoming afternoon participating in some good footvolley matches.
Last Saturday we launched our first tailored-made portable net kit at Collaroy beach and it was a great success! The portable net had all the great efforts from Juninho- the posts demonstrated to be really solid and well-built. We will build a second kit to allow FVA organise games for beginners and some training sessions at one, and more advanced players’ matches at the other. FVA mobile kits will offer us flexibility during summer, in particular. By having the portable nets, we will be able to accommodate sessions to more appropriate weather conditions-more sheltered beaches- or simply avoid eventual big crowds that populate Manly beach in result of special events happening at the beach or any other unforseen situation.
This past Sunday, footvolley Manly was interrupted by a beach volley tournament but it was actually beneficial as we had the opportunity to train some serious ‘altinha’. Khris and Denise showed their enthusiasm as they have been noticing increasingly good improvement in their ball passes! ‘Altinha’ practice sessions have been proven to really assist improve players control over the ball and place the ball ‘UP’ to the other players in order to make sure when everyone who has a turn to play at the net, there is a fair balance in the game with some fun ‘rallies’.
