Almost a dozen of players enjoyed last Sunday 28 may the start of winter footvolley season on Manly Beach. The weather forecast was not preatty one day before but Surprisingly Sunday morning the weather was just perfect – sunny, temperature of almost 20C and light winds. The winter sun is already spoiling the double facing north so the teams had to swap sides during the match. The selection of double made each match very competitive and full of nice rallies with some matches going to set arguing.
Outside of the court Alemao coach the “altinha” implementing attack and defense techniques that kept everybody warm and ready to play.
Due the number of double all players were motivated to win in order to keep playing in the net. The tension was high and Bahia with an injury on his neck had to retire earlier.
The girls are getting involved and Denise was part of the altinha training, coached by Ceara. The altinha is a fundamental part of the Footvolley training and the fastest way to progress and gain the basic technique to be able to play on the net. Denise has been showing that footvolley is a sport to everybody. Even she had never played football before she is already gaining a lot of skills just by practicing altinha. Thanks also for the help of more experienced players like Ceara.
We hope all the winter days to be like Sunday. Just the perfect Footvolley day.
